Forbidden Revisited

It's been a while since it aired, but I was happy to see that someone posted the episode. If you didn't catch it the first time around on Investigation Discovery, here's my life as the Gangster Princess. Enjoy!

Back in the Game

One of the most difficult things about being a student is taking time away from "work." It's not that I've been doing nothing, but rather that I've been applying new skills in smaller works such as class and college productions and workshops. Below are a couple of things I've put together since I posted last fall. The first is a creepy short called Keepsake. The second is my minor participation in my very first 48 Hour Film Project, called Love Between the Sheets. Check out my mad jogging skills!

An Exciting Week!

Two of the biggest projects I've done to date are both going live this week. Tomorrow, 9/19/13, my episode of "Forbidden" will air on Investigation Discovery. I was the lead character, Lisette Lee, for this re-enactment episode. I filmed most of it during the last two weeks of high school, working shooting schedules around finals and graduation. Talk about crazy! But now, the world is about to see it, good or bad, which is both exciting and terrifying! For now, enjoy the series commercial, where you can spot me in the fur coat and again drinking champagne! The other big event is the red carpet premiere of Reminisce. We had a preliminary screening at the end of June, so I know what I'm getting with this one. I'm so proud of the amazing team, actors and crew alike, who made this happen on no budget. On a personal level, this was completed about a year ago, and I can see how much I've grown as a performer since this was filmed. There are so many things I would love to go back and re-shoot, not because it's bad, but because I just would have brought something else to it this time. Maybe I'm just my own worst critic. Anyway, if you are in the area and can make to Leitersburg Cinemas at 7pm on Saturday, you should come walk the red carpet and see the film!

And before I go, here's the link to the Herald-Mail's article about the premiere. I think the reporter misunderstood me on a couple of points, but maybe it was the bad reception I have at Coastal. You'll have to copy and paste because my hyperlinks aren't working tonight: http://www.heraldmailmedia.com/life/hagerstown-director-tells-story-on-big-screen/article_2528e0c6-1caa-11e3-9ac4-001a4bcf6878.html

I Have a Reel! FINALLY!

With many thanks to Shannon Lanier, I now have a reel. The footage is from Reminisce and some trial scenes from New Hope. I'm excited to have something to show agents and casting directors that isn't from a class! Hope you enjoy it!

Staying Active

As actors, we have busy times and we have down times. It's important to keep working on skills and staying fresh during those quiet spells. You never know when that random audition call might pop up, so it's important to always have your best ready! This is a little scene from Vampire Diaries that I worked on last week. I know it's hard to hear the reader, who is doing 2 parts btw, but hopefully it gives you a taste of what I've been up to lately! College is just around the corner and I'm excited to continue growing in my art!

New Head Shots, Work, and College

It's been a crazy spring and early summer. After wrapping up the college auditions, waiting for acceptances and rejections, I finally made my decision. It was tough for a number of reasons, but I chose Coastal Carolina University where I will pursue a BFA degree in Musical Theatre. I've always struggled with making decisions, and this was no exception. I was in the middle of a showcase for some great agents out of NY and LA, so I was stuck with "Should I go pro or should I go to school?" In the midst of all this, I graduated, turned 18 and began getting several work offers, as well as some really great auditions and feedback from casting directors. Needless to say, it only complicated things. In the end, I didn't sign a new contract and decided to go to school, even if it means slowing down on the professional work front. It's scary to back down when I feel like I have so much momentum going. I will keep striving to maintain a balance of work and school, but I just need to focus on my skills for a little while. So, come August I will move south and begin a new path...GO CHANTS! As part of my showcase prep, I had some terrific new headshots done with Joe Henson in NYC . Hope you like them!

V/H/S 2 On Demand and in Theaters!

Last summer, I had the chance to play a small role in Eduardo Sanchez's segment of V/H/S 2. Sanchez was creator of The Blair Witch Project, so it was very exciting to work with an originator of the "found footage" genre. In the Youtube trailer here, I'm actually doing the filming of the birthday party scene. This gave me my first crew credit on a film for IMDb! The film premiered at Sundance in January and has been getting rave reviews from horror lovers at South by Southwest (SXSW) and Tribeca. I finally get to see it for myself when it screens this weekend at the Maryland Film Festival. Enjoy the trailer for now, and I hope you catch a glimpse of me on the big screen July 12th!
